Quality education has been a standard in the North Little Rock
School District since the first school door opened in 1901. Since
then, the district has grown to approximately 30 square miles with
22 schools serving just under 9,000 students. Along with growth
in size enrollment, the district has also grown in educational stature
to become recognized as a leader in learning opportunities and student
performance. To ensure individual student growth, school curriculum
is broad in scope while emphasizing basic skills. All schools have
earned accreditation status by the North Central Association. All
schools meet and surpass Arkansas Educational Standards.

Little Rock School District in the metropolitan area, compared to
the larger school systems in Little Rock and surrounding Pulaski
County. Being smaller allows the North Little Rock School Distrtict
to be more personal in its relationships with students, parents,
patrons, and staff members. Superior teachers, strong support staff,
and dedicated community leaders are all valuable assets in North
Little Rock schools. The professional staff reflects the high standards

top priority for children. The community is involved in making the
district the best it can be. Including the City of North Little
Rock, more than 150 businesses participate in the Partners in Education,
Vital Link, Arkansas Scholars and Junior Acheivement programs, which
encourage students to make the connection between what they learn
in school and the real world. Business leaders know their involvement
will make a difference in preparing a ready work force and future
leaders in our community.

- the vocational student, the college-bound student, the student
with special gifts and the handicapped student. They recognize that

appraisal, frequent evaluation and flexible grouping ensure that
each student will receive instruction according to identified strengths
and individual needs.p> With an average annual salary exceeding
