COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Just Promoted (PDEV1115)
The perfect introductory course for new managers! Companies like to promote from within whenever possible, but just because someone has been a great employee doesn’t mean they will automatically make a great manager. Promoting employees into a management position with no training sets that employee up for failure.
This introductory leadership course is designed for recently promoted managers or those preparing to advance in their careers, and covers the basics of leadership skills including management communication, conflict management, ethical communication, and working in teams.
Effective Public Speaking (PDEV1116)
Advancement in the workplace is often accompanied by the requirement to speak publicly, but few who advance will possess this necessary skill. This course covers fool-proof methods for preparing an effective presentation, from attention getter to clincher, in a way that your audience will understand and retain. More than just tips, this course includes exercises in information gathering, correct organization, proper use of presentation aids, speech delivery, and managing speech anxiety.
Private coaching is also available to prepare for specific presentations. Contact the UA-PTC Business and Industry Center for details and pricing.
